Eugene "Gene" Anderson was born 9 March 1944 in Georgia. He moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1951 where he worked as a brakeman for the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad. In 1972, Anderson was elected to the Kansas State House of Representatives from the 83rd District; he proceeded to serve in that position for two terms (until 1976). He then served as Chairman of the Kansas Civil Rights Commission from 1979-1983. He also worked as district-aide to Congressman Dan Glickman. In 1985...
